• Public sector unions will begin strikes and could continue depending on negotiations. Local and national administrative offices likely close
• Rail network (SNCF) unions will begin rolling strikes for 24-hour periods, to continue depending on negotiations
• Public transportation network (RATP) unions will begin open-ended strikes, to continue depending on negotiations
• Air France unions will hold a 24-hour strike with the further action possible
• Electricite de France (EDF) and Gaz de France (GDF) unions call for open-ended strikes on Oct.12 and will continue depending on negotiations. Brownouts could occur.
• Postal system and France Telecom unions will begin open-ended strikes to continue depending on negotiations. Expect delayed postal service
• Ports and dock unions have called on 40,000 commercial maritime workers to join an open-ended strike, to continue depending on negotiations. Meanwhile, the oil ports at Fos-sur-Mer and Lavera and other refineries continue their indefinite strike.
