Rundu meldet keine Landung einer LAM.

Aus dem Avherald:
Namibia's Authorities have initiated a search for the aircraft confirming the aircraft had been last heard over northern Namibia. The aircraft has not landed on Rundu's Airport. There are unverified reports of the aircraft having gone down 200km/108nm east of Rundu, a national park with mainly wetlands and dense forests.

Kavango Regional Police Crime Coordinator Willie Bampton confirmed that they were informed by officials in Botswana that they saw smoke in the air and heard explosions yesterday afternoon. The police is now searching in the Bwabwata National Park where the plane is said to have crashed.

Bampton, who is part of the search team in the Bwabwata National Park, said the area is inaccessible and the rain that fell yesterday in the area is not making it easier for them.

“We are still searching. There are no proper roads, you have to go through the bush, slowly and its making our job difficult,” he said. Bampton said the Namibian police were first informed about the incident around 15h00 by officials from Botswana who initially thought the plane crashed in their country.

AFP meldet gerade:

Windhoek — Namibian police have found the wreckage of a Mozambican Airlines plane that went missing on Friday and none of the more than 30 people on board have survived the crash, a senior officer said.

"My team on the ground have found the wreckage. No survivors. The plane is totally burned," Willie Bampton, a regional police coordinator in the Kavango region.

Wenn ich mir die Größe der verbleibenden Wrackstücke ansehe, ist die Maschine eher nicht senkrecht mit annähernder Überschallgeschwindigkeit aufgeschlagen.

Was mag da passiert sein...?

"On Dec 14th 2013 Mozambique's Civil Aviation Authority reported in a press conference, that the investigation is well underway, cockpit voice and flight data recorder have been successfully read out and have been analysed, a preliminary report is nearly finished. Results of the investigation so far rule out any mechanical problem or problem with the airworthiness of the aircraft as cause of the major accident."

Daneben gibt es noch einige Hinweise zum Wetter, vielleicht können einige Wetterexperten da mal für ein bisschen Aufklärung sorgen, ich kann auf den Bildern nichts erkennen....

On Dec 21st 2013 Mozambique's Civil Aviation Authority reported in a press conference (the preliminary report has not yet been released by Namibia's Accident Investigation Commission), that cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder revealed, that the captain was alone on the flight deck, banging on the flight deck door could be heard on the cockpit voice recorder. The autoflight systems (autothrottle and autopilot) were engaged. There were sounds and clicks consistent with a person knowledgeable of the aircraft systems commanding the engines to idle thrust and selecting the autoflight systems into a descent at 6000 feet per minute. Numerous warnings and alerts were not responded to.

22 December 2013 Last updated at 02:39 GMT Mozambique plane crash 'intentionally caused' by pilot. Mozambique's civil aviation institute has said that it believes that the pilot of a plane that crashed last month deliberately caused the accident. Mozambican Airlines's flight TM470 left the capital Maputo bound for Angola on 29 November but crashed over Namibia, killing all 33 people all board. The head of the institute Joao Abreu said preliminary investigations show the pilot made a "deliberate series of manoeuvres" causing the crash. The investigation is continuing. Mr Abreu did not say what he thought would have motivated the pilot, Hermino dos Santos Fernandes, to do such a thing. Mr Dos Santos Fernandes ignored warning sounds and pounding on the cockpit door which are audible on recordings recovered from the plane, Mr Abreu said.

Das ist ja ziemlich gruselig wenn sich das alles bewahrheitet, echt unheimlich. Wieso muss dieser Armleuchter noch 33 andere mitnehmen?

Wenn das wirklich so stimmt, zeichnet das ein ziemlich bezeichnendes Bild von LAM, oder besser gesagt deren Umgang mit ihrem Personal.

Das ist keine Entschuldigung, dass zeigt wozu Menschen in gewissen schlimmen Situationen in der Lage sind. Sehr traurig.

Abwarten!
Diese einfache Erklärung erinnert zu sehr an die zeitweise abenteuerlichsten Erklärungsversuche für Egyptair 990.
Es hat sich bewährt den Schlussreport der entsprechenden Behörde abzuwarten. Wer ermittelt denn eigentlich ausser Mozambique bei Absturz einer Maschine aus Mozambique, produziert in Brasilien, über Namibia?

Lt avherald.com " An international commission led by Namibia is going to investigate the crash, Brazil (state of manufacture) and Mozambique (state of operator) are going to participate in the investigation."
