Bei der Notlandung einer Passagiermaschine auf der kolumbianischen Insel San Andrés ist ein Passagier ums Leben gekommen. 127 Menschen wurden verletzt. Die Maschine, eine Boeing 737 der Fluggesellschaft Aires, war vom Blitz getroffen worden. Sie hatte die Landebahn auf der Insel noch erreicht und zerbrach dort in mindestens zweite Teile.

Wenn ich mir die Bilder ansehe, ist das fast ein Wunder daß wohl nur 1 Toter und 34 Verletzte (niemand lebensgefährlich) zu beklagen sind....

An Aires Boeing 737-700, registration HK-4682 performing flight 4C-8250 from Bogota to San Andres Island (Colombia) with 121 passengers and 6 crew, touched down about 80 meters (260 feet) short of the runway and broke up in three parts while landing at San Andres Island Airport at 01:49L (06:49Z). One passenger was killed, 34 passengers received non life threatening injuries of varying degrees. All survivors were taken to a local hospital for treatment or checks.

San Andres Island Police reported, that the airplane was struck by lightning just as it flared and touched down. Police reported 121 passengers, 4 children and 6 crew (131 people) on board.

Colombia's CAA confirmed the accident but did not have any details. At the time of the accident the visibility was reported at 4000 meters (13000 feet) with thunderstorms in the area.

San Andres Island's runway 06/24 is 2380 meters/7800 feet long and 36 meters/120 feet wide. The airport features VOR/DME and RNAV approaches to both runway ends as well as a NDB approach to runway 06.

Lightning struck Aires (4C) flight 8250 at approximately 0149 Aug. 16 as it glided some 80 meters (262 feet) above the runway at Gustavo Rojas Pinilla Airport (ADZ) on San Andres Island.It has been reported that one woman died in the crash and at least 114 others were injured.

Background
The Boeing 737-700 aircraft, en route from Bogota to San Andres, split into three pieces when it hit the runway. The woman who died suffered a heart attack moments after the crash landing. The rapid response from local emergency crews prevented the aircraft from igniting, which could have significantly raised the death toll.

OK, das klingt glaubwürdiger als es hier beschrieben wird. Man könnte daraus den Schluss ziehen, dass die 737 direkt resultierend aus dem Blitzschlag auseinandergebrochen ist.
