The New Arrivals Terminal at the Doha International Airport (DIA) will be open from 19 December 2010, 9:00 am (local time) onwards. As you may already know, Doha International Airport is being expanded to deliver an improved airport experience. To ensure a faster, seamless journey as you transfer through the airport, colour-coded boarding pass wallets and luggage tags have been introduced for every passenger. These will be given to you when you check-in for your next Qatar Airways flight at the port of embarkation. Not only will these colour codes help you identify the appropriate terminal and security screening queue, thanks to colour-coded signs at Doha International Airport, they will also ensure that airport staff can assist you embark on your journey too. Please keep them visible at all times.
We’ve put together a handy guide to the new colour codes, so you’ll be familiar with the new system next time you fly:
Yellow - Economy Class Transfers
If you’re transferring at Doha International Airport to an onward connecting flight, you’ll receive a yellow or orange edged yellow boarding pass wallet and matching cabin hand luggage tag upon check-in at the airport of embarkation. On arrival at Doha International Airport, you’ll be transported by bus to the Transfers and Departures Terminal. On board the bus, please take note of the announcements made to ensure you leave the bus only at the Transfers and Departures Terminal.
When you enter the Transfers and Departures Terminal, please follow the signs that match the colour of your boarding pass wallet and cabin luggage tag to guide you to the right security screening area and queue.
Green - Satellite Transfers Terminal
If you receive a green boarding pass wallet and green cabin baggage tags at the airport of embarkation, upon arrival at Doha international airport, a separate bus will take you to the Satellite Transfers Terminal. Please make sure that you board the bus to the Satellite Transfers Terminal only, once you’ve disembarked the plane.
Burgundy - First & Business Class Transfers
If you’re travelling First or Business Class and taking a connection flight from Doha International Airport, you’ll be given a burgundy boarding pass wallet and cabin hand baggage tags upon check-in. This burgundy boarding pass wallet gives you entrance to the exclusive Qatar Airways Premium Transfers Terminal. When arriving at Doha International Airport, you’ll be transported to the Premium Transfers Terminal by luxury bus or limousine.
Blue - Arrivals Terminal
If Doha is your final destination, you’ll be given a blue boarding pass wallet and blue cabin baggage tags upon check-in at the airport of embarkation. On arrival, you’ll be transported by bus to the Arrivals Terminal. First and Business Class passengers will be transported to the Arrivals Terminal by a dedicated luxury bus or limousine.
