Vor allem in Nordamerika ein Gewinn für Accor Le Club Member. Accor deckt damit gleichwertig das gesamte Portfolio ab, vom Budget Ibis Buxtehude bis zum Plaza New York. Bin mal gespannt, ob das ausreicht, auf Hilton und/oder IHG so viel Druck zu machen, dass auch die sich gezwungen sehen, zu expandieren durch Zukauf von Marken. Wobei IHG ja erst Kimpton gekauft hat, von daher denke ich die halten die Füße erstmal still.

Das wird wohl der Vorteil sein (war ja auch schon sehr seltsam mit den eigenen Programmen bei Swissotel, Fairmont und Raffles), etwas schade ists irgendwie um den Fairmont Presidents Club, der wird wohl kaum überleben...

Fairmont: Unfriendly Take Over by Accor Hotels

Die Medien haben berichtet, dass Fairmont durch Accor übernommen wurde. :censored: :sick: Siehe u.a. im TravelNews, im CBCnews oder im BloombergBusiness.

Wie kann so eine Schrottmarke wie Accor so eine Perle wie Fairmont (zu der auch Swissôtel gehört) übernehmen? Hier läuft einiges schief! Eigentlich hätte doch SPG Fairmont und Hyatt übernehmen sollen!

Ich glaube, die guten Zeiten in der Hotelindustrie scheinen sich endgültig dem Ende zu nähern!

Wieso Schrottmarke?
Accor ist ein globaler Hotelkonzern wie Hilton, IHG und Mariott/SPG.
Sicher mit Schwerpunkt im Low Budget-Bereich, im Premiumsegment sah es bis dato mit Sofitel und einigen Pullmans eher mau aus - daher passt diese Aquisition gut ins Portfolio...

Um das Thema "Premiumsegment" hier auf zu greifen:
Stimme Kostodingsda zu. Neben Sofitel buche ich mich gerne in Starwoodhotels ein; da passt der Deal, für mich als Kunde, doch sehr gut ins Bild.

Ich denke, "wir" werden hier von profitieren.

Ich freue mich ehrlich gesagt auch über den Kauf. Was Preis-Leistung angeht, ist Accor bei Sales absolut unschlagbar. Dazu Cashback + ganz nett Punkte und einige Sonderkationen und schon schläft man gefühlt umsonst. Der einzige Grund aus dem ich nicht mehr bei Accor buche ist das Fehlen von Luxushotels. Mercure mache ich nur im Ausnahmefall, Novotel geht zur Not und Pullman und Sofitel mag ich wirklich gern. Sollten Fairmont, Raffles und Swissotel als Premiummarken eingebunden werden, würde ich definitiv noch mehr Nächte zu Accor verlegen (y)

Na ja, eben, wie schon erwähnt, ich sehe das anders. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt für mich bei Accor überhaupt nicht. In keiner Art und Weise. Und das "Kundenbindungsprogramm" ist ein absoluter Witz.

Ich hab grad aus der Konzernzentrale erfahren, dass angedacht ist, Swissotels zu Pullmans zu machen und der Rest zu Sofitels. Wie schon erwähnt, Pullmann und Sofitel? Phua, keine Chance gegen SPG Platinum und Westin, LM, Sheraton, etc

Soso, Accor ist also ne Schrottmarke.... Hmm, lass mal grübeln. Was glaubst du wer mehr "Brot- und Buttergeschäft" betreibt: Accor oder Sheraton oder Westin usw.?

Die Haupteinnahmen bringen nicht die paar Schnösel, die sich überteuerte Zimmer leisten und sich aufführen als wären sie Gott in Frankreich. Das ist pillepalle. Das Hauptgeschäft ist immer noch das mit den einfacheren Hotels. Es gibt mehr Leute, die sich nen 50-70 €-Zimmer leisten können/wollen, als jene die mal 200 € pro Nacht oder mehr auf den Tisch legen. Der "Schrott" ist es, der den Hotelketten weltweit das Überleben sichert, nicht die paar Luxusdinger.

Warum ein Hotel plötzlich schlechter wird, weil anstelle X nun Y dran steht, bleibt mir auch schleierhaft. Warum das Kundenbindungsprogramm von Accor angeblich so schlecht sei, erklärst du auch nicht und für mich ist es nicht nachvollziehbar. Aber Hauptsache mal rumgemeckert...

In Deiner Überschrift (und daher der Zitierfunktion entzogen) unterstellst Du eine unfreundliche Übernahme. Diese Behauptung finde ich weder in den von Dir verlinkten Artikeln, noch anderswo gestützt. Im Gegenteil, ich lese überall etwas von "Agreement" und einem angeblich zu hohen Kaufpreis. Nicht, dass es irgendetwas ändern würde, aber es wäre interessant die Quelle für Deine Behauptung zu kennen.

Auch bei Accor gibt es wenige Lichtblicke und viel Finsternis. Aber Deine "Perle" FRHI war doch selbst gerade nur durch den Zusammenkauf der Swissotel, Fairmont und Raffles entstanden, eine gemeinsame Vermarktung ist bis heute ebensowenig gelungen wie eine Verzahlung der Buchungssseiten oder der bis heute getrennten Loyalty-Programme.

Ich weiss jetzt nicht in welcher Konzernzentrale Du unter dem Schreibtisch sitzt, insofern kann ich die Seriosität der Meldung, wonach Swissotels zu Pullmans gemacht werden und der "Rest" (Deine Fairmont-"Perlen"?) zu Sofitels, nicht enschätzen, messe sie nun aber natürlich an der "unfreundlichen Übernahme". Persönlich kann ich mir nicht vorstellen, dass man viel Geld für Marken wie "Swissotel", "Raffles" oder "Fairmont" ausgibt ohne sie dann zu verwenden, zumal Accor ja ansonsten eher nicht gerade für die Konzentration auf wenige Kernmarken steht. Wenn ich mir aber den Investitionsstau in manchen Sheratons (Mailand, Bucharest, Sofia, Montreal, Shanghai-Hongqiao...), Le Meridiens (London, Barcelona, ...) und Westins (Berlin, Key West,...) anschaue (in einem Platinum habe ich noch nicht gewohnt) und dagegen etwa die tollen Sofitels in Amsterdam, Singapur oder Montreal oder Pullmans in Köln oder Madrid, dann denke ich dass beide Seiten noch ausreichend unerledigte Hausaufgaben haben.

Persönlich kann ich mir nicht vorstellen, dass man viel Geld für Marken wie "Swissotel", "Raffles" oder "Fairmont" ausgibt ohne sie dann zu verwenden.

Sowas von +1.

Ich habe zwar überhaupt keine Insiderkenntnisse o.Ä. aber es würde mich SEHR wundern wenn so etablierte Namen / Marken wie Fairmont und Raffles für viel Geld akquiriert werden und dann in Sofitels "verschwinden"

Vor allen Dingen wäre eine Einordnung von Fairmonts und Raffles in Sofitel vollkommen unpassend. Meiner Meinung nach hat Sofitel im Luxussegment ein äußerst konsistentes Produkt und überall denselben französischen, oft auch einigermaßen modernen, Stil. Fairmont passt da meiner Meinung nach überhaupt nicht rein. Die Swissôtels (zumindest die in denen ich bislang war) passen da fast noch besser rein.

Am Ende sehe ich aber eher ein Quintett an Marken, die einfach unter dem Accor-Dach zusammengefasst werden. Man hat ja auch jetzt schon einige zusätzliche Marken wie Grand Mercure, The Sebel oder "xxx managed by Accor" für Hotels, die nicht in die anderen Luxuskategorien passen.
