Edelweiss Air presents its winter flight schedule 2010/11
1. Long-haul flights
New destination: Mauritius
Starting in November, Edelweiss Air will conduct a weekly flight to Mauritius (on Mondays). This dream destination in the Indian Ocean is a very popular island paradise among Swiss visitors and offers a choice of premium hotels.
New destination: Tanzania - Kilimanjaro Airport
Kilimanjaro Airport is the starting point for visits to tourist attractions such as the Serengeti National Park, the Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Victoria or the Kilimanjaro mountain range. Edelweiss Air will be flying to this exclusive destination on Sundays, from November until February, in combination with the destination Mombasa (Kenya). This allows for ideal possibilities to combine safaris in Tanzania with a beach holiday on the Kenyan coast.
3 flights a week to the Caribbean
Edelweiss Air flies to the following destinations in the Caribbean: Punta Cana and Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, Varadero in Cuba combined with Cancun in Mexico as well as directly to Punta Cana, from Tuesday to Thursday.
3 flights a week to the Maldives, one weekly flight combined with Goa:
Swiss conducts three flights per week to the Maldives, from Friday to Sunday, on behalf of Edelweiss Air. A larger and comfortable business class is offered on these flights. The Sunday flight also services Goa in India with a stopover.
Direct flight to Phuket in Thailand
Following last winter’s big success, Edelweiss Air will again be conducting a direct flight to Phuket in the 2010/11 winter season (on Saturdays).
2. Medium-haul flights New:
3 flights a week to the trendy city of Marrakech
Marrakech in Morocco is currently the trendiest city in North Africa. With Edelweiss Air, it can be visited for individual and flexible lengths of stay or as a starting point for round trips to the imperial cities or the desert. The flight days are Tuesday, Thursday (via Agadir) and Saturday.
The Canary Islands
Edelweiss Air will offer a comprehensive choice of flights to the Canary Islands. There will be 3 weekly flights to Gran Canaria (Monday, Wednesday and Saturday), 2 weekly flights to Tenerife (Wednesday and Saturday) and one weekly flight to Lanzarote and Fuerteventura.
8 flights per week to the Red Sea
Edelweiss Air’s flight schedule for winter 2010/11 also includes a total of 8 flights per week to the four attractive diving, beach and excursion destinations Sharm-el-Sheik, Hurghada, Marsa Alam and Luxor in Upper Egypt.

All Edelweiss Air flights are in code share with Swiss. Accordingly, these flights can also be combined with scheduled flights of Swiss. The following combined trips are especially recommendable: the East Africa flight Kilimanjaro and Mombasa (Edelweiss Air) combined with Nairobi and Dar es Salaam (Swiss), the flight to Mauritius (Edelweiss Air) with Johannesburg (Swiss) or the Phuket flight (Edelweiss Air) with Bangkok (Swiss).
