The Lufthansa Merchants Club (formerly Traders club) is made up of businessmen and women who fly Lufthansa for their business trips to the Far East, Europe and America . Their membership enables them enjoy special rebates and incentives such as baggage allowances, access to lounges and the newly introduced debit card, among others.
Reichle, however, charged them to ensure that they abide by trade regulations of the countries they visit and bear the integrity of the country whenever they travel for business, by dealing in only genuine goods to avoid confiscation by authorities.
“Our duty is limited to air safety. Lufthansa allows you to carry any good that does not jeopardise the air safety rules and the airline cannot be held responsible for confiscated goods seized by the customs of any country,“ he warned.
