You have probably read or heard about Toyota's voluntary recall and, as a valued Hertz #1 Club Gold customer, we are letting you know what to expect when you rent a Hertz vehicle over the next few weeks.
Hertz will not rent Toyota vehicles subject to the recall until these vehicles have been repaired as approved by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. We are going through our rental fleet and taking these vehicles out of service. You can be confident that if you rent from Hertz and you are given a Toyota product, it is not subject to the recall. If you are still uncomfortable driving a Toyota at this time, we will make every effort to switch you to another brand (e.g., Nissan, Ford, GM) as quickly as possible.
You may wonder if it will be more difficult to rent a car because of the recall. We can assure you that Hertz will be able to honor your reservation.
Finally, we are taking a number of steps to increase our rental fleet to accommodate every possible car rental customer.
