Mr. Dimitris Gerogiannis, Managing Director, commented: “During the first half of 2015 and despite unique challenges we have proven our resilience and ability to contribute materially and consistently to Greek tourism by delivering a strong 20% growth in international traffic. Investment in New aircraft, New Routes, New Services all aimed to expand our ability to compete in quality and efficiency and grow within a challenging environment.

It should be noted during the last three weeks and since the imposition of capital controls we were initially faced with a significant loss in net bookings for both domestic and international travel for July onwards. We responded immediately with fare offerings, despite being in peak season, and with significant cost to our yields. Our effective response, albeit costly, combined with the promise of gradual return to normality evident during the last few days have borne fruit. Indeed, for the first half of July we have achieved a 30% increase in our international traffic to Athens, equal to the additional capacity we have invested. Using offers, we have even managed to have marginal growth in domestic traffic which was even more severely affected. Naturally further normalization of conditions is required to keep the positive dynamic we now experience”.

AEGEAN reports full year 2015 results with consolidated revenue at €983m, 8% higher compared to 2014. Passenger traffic rose by 15% to 11.6m passengers, continuing the fast growth for a second consecutive year following the acquisition of Olympic Air.

Pre-tax earnings rose 6% to €100.3m while net earnings after tax reached €68.4m, 15% lower compared to 2014 due to higher corporate tax rate as well as an increased deferred taxation effect.

EBITDAR reached €217.3m while EBITDA stood at €111.2m, resulting to cash & short term financial assets of €238m at year end.

Traffic in the domestic network increased by 7% to 5.6m passengers driven by demand stimulation on lower fares and strong connecting traffic. International traffic rose by 24% to 6m passengers.

AEGEAN announces a trading update for the Nine Month period ending September 30, 2016 with consolidated revenue at €819.9m, 3% higher versus 2015. Total number of passengers carried rose by 6% to 9.8m.
Domestic passenger traffic rose by 2% to 4.5 million while passengers carried on the international network rose by 10% to 5.3 million.
During the third and most important quarter of the year, revenue rose by 7% to €416.3m with net earnings 11% higher at €74.9m.
The strong performance of the third quarter moderated to a certain extent the negative impact of first half results, leading to nine month revenue of €819.9m and net earnings at €51.2m.
The main drivers behind the positive set of results in the quarter were the rebound in demand as of July, the positive performance of key established international routes served as well as newly launched during the last two years and increased connecting flows out of Athens.
Cash and cash equivalent, including short term financial investments, reached €299m[1] at 30.09.2016.

AEGEAN reports full year 2016 results with consolidated revenue at €1,020m, 4% higher compared to 2015. Passenger traffic rose by 7% compared to 2015, reaching 12.5m passengers, with growth stemming mainly from the international network.

EBITDAR reached €206.9m while EBITDA stood at €76.8m. Net earnings after tax stood at €32.2m from €68.4m in 2015, with the decline attributed to a weak first half reported.

Cash & financial investments reached €253.2m at year end from €236.8m the previous year[1].

Traffic in the international network increased by 12% to 6.7m passengers while domestic traffic increased by 2% to 5.7m passengers.

AEGEAN announces 9-month 2017 results with consolidated revenue at €896.3m, 9% higher compared to the respective period in 2016 while EBITDA increased to €128m. Pre-tax earnings rose to €101.9m while net earnings grew by 40% to €71.7m.
During the third and strongest quarter of the year, revenue increased to €445.6m, 7% up compared to the respective quarter in 2016. Pre-tax earnings increased to €128.6m while net earnings grew 23% compared to last year at €91.7m. Load factors improved to 87.6% from 83.7%. Efficient network adjustments and successful commercial policies combined with previous years’ investment on international network boosted load factors and revenue per flight, contributing to a significant improvement on operating results with EBITDA rising 22% to €138.5m in the quarter.

AEGEAN announces financial results for fiscal year 2017, showing an 11% rise in consolidated revenue at €1,127.6m. Performance in international routes has boosted consolidated EBITDA at €120m, 56% higher than the previous year. Pre-tax earnings reached €85.8m, 66% higher than 2016, while net earnings after tax increased by 87% at €60.4m

Total traffic reached 13.2m passengers, 6% higher than 2016. International network continued to be the main growth driver, with traffic reaching 7.3m passengers, 9% higher than 2016. It is worth highlighting that back in 2013, upon Olympic Air’s acquisition, aggregate Aegean and Olympic Air international traffic stood only at 4.3m passengers.

Domestic traffic increased by 3% to 5.9m passengers, despite the increased activity of competitors, as connecting flows through Athens to the islands and lower fare offers have stimulated demand.

Higher traffic and improved operating profitability were mainly the result of efficient network management, which have led to higher load factors, as overall flight activity has not increased. Specifically, load factor increased to 83.2% from 77.4%, despite the intense seasonality of demand.

AEGEAN announces 2018 9-month results with consolidated revenue at €939.3m, 5% higher than 2017. Pre-tax earnings rose 14% to €115.8m and net earnings after tax were up 13% to €80.9m.

During the 9-month period to September 30, 2018, AEGEAN and its subsidiary Olympic Air, carried 10.8m passengers, 6% more than the previous year, with 4.8m in domestic and 6m in the international network. Total passengers from/to Athens hub traveling on international routes increased by 12%. Load factor improved to 83.6% from 82.9% in 2017 as a result of efficient revenue and network management.

Halbjahresergebnisse 2019

AEGEAN announces its first half 2019 results with consolidated revenue at EUR 519.4 mil., 14% higher compared to 2018 and net losses narrowing to EUR 13.0 mil. from EUR 13.8 mil. in 2018, including the effect of implementation of IFRS 16 for the first time. The adoption of IFRS 16 has a negative impact on results of EUR 3,8 mil. Therefore, net losses on a comparable basis, excluding IFRS 16 would have been EUR 9.2 mil. from EUR 13.8 mil. in 2018.
(...)
Total traffic in the first half of the year reached 6.5 mil. passengers, 9% higher than 2018. Passengers carried on domestic flights increased by 4% to 2.8 mil. International network traffic which accounts for 76% of consolidated revenue, increased by 12% to 3.7 mil. passengers. Load factor improved to 82.2% from 81.7%.
