Lufthansa opens two 'Sports Corners' at Frankfurt Airport
01.06.2010
The World Cup in South Africa is nearly upon us. So that you don’t miss any of the goals whilst you are at Frankfurt Airport, Lufthansa is opening two Sports Corners in Departure Areas A and B where Senators, Frequent Travellers and Business Class passengers can watch sports events on large flat-screen TVs. All the World Cup matches will be shown live.
The Sports Corner for Senators, which will be located opposite the Senator Lounge at Gate B46 and which will seat around 70 people, will open in time for the World Cup kickoff on 11 June.
The Sports Corner for Business Class passengers and Frequent Travellers will be available in Departure Area A in time for the start of the World Cup finals. This will offer around 50 seats and can be reached via the entrance to the Business Lounge at Gate A26.
Both Sports Corners are fitted with a bistro area and bar tables and even after the World Cup they will continue to enhance the lounge offer at Frankfurt until the refurbishment of the Senator Lounge in Departure Area B in 2011 and until the opening of five further lounges in Pier A-Plus.
