Find out if you can travel to Canada - Foreign national without symptoms - In transit
You indicated that you are:
- a foreign national
- not showing signs and symptoms consistent with COVID-19
- only transiting through Canada
- taking a connecting flight to another country
Based on your answers, you
may be allowed to enter Canada.
If you clear your health check, and have all necessary travel documents, you will
likely be allowed to transit through Canada; however, the final determination will be made by a government official at the port of entry.
You don’t require a negative COVID-19 test result to transit through Canada at this time.
What you need to do next
Before travelling you must:
- make your travel arrangements well in advance if you are transiting through Canada
- plan your travel so you arrive and depart from the same Canadian airport within 24 hours
- connections must occur on the same day at all Canadian airports except Toronto (YYZ). Overnight connections are not possible at:
- Montreal (YUL)
- Calgary (YYC)
- Vancouver (YVR)
- domestic transfers are not permitted
- make sure that your flights to and from Canada are on the same airline. You may not enter Canada to check-in for your next flight or to collect your baggage.
While travelling you must:
- remain in the secure transit area of a Canadian airport to complete your connection. Should you need to leave the airport or the secure transit area due to a flight cancellation or delay, you become subject to mandatory quarantine until your flight departs.
- comply with any guidelines provided by the Airport Authority and follow all flight requirements
- follow the provincial and territorial restrictions, depending where you are transiting through
