United Airlines passengers at airports around the country say their flights have been temporarily grounded Wednesday morning because of a computer system malfunction. Flights were expected to be impacted throughout the day.
NBC Connecticut said United passengers without a hard copy of their boarding pass were not being allowed to check in at Bradley International Airport in Windsor Locks, north of Hartford.
Passengers at airports in Washington, D.C., Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Florida also complained of system backups.
The Federal Aviation Administration blamed the ground stop on "automation issues," although the airline has not immediately responded to requests for comment.
