ANZEIGE
Am 28.09. und 29.09.2013 ist Tag der offenen Tür in der Forschungseinrichtung CERN.
CERN opens its doors September 28th - 29th | CERN Open Days 2013
CERN is the biggest particle physics laboratory in the world.
More than 10,000 physicists from all around the world come to CERN to carry out experiments whose aim is to advance the understanding of the fundamentals of matter and the nature of our universe.
To explore these new frontiers of knowledge, CERN has developed a chain of accelerators, culminating in the LHC, has installed enormous particle detectors, and has pushed technology to its limits.
[h=2]What ?[/h] Meet the people who make the discoveries, visit the installations where they work, discover the computer centre which is at the heart of the worldwide computing grid, explore hi-tech laboratories, descend 100 metres underground to the experimental caverns, visit the control centres where the scientists and engineers monitor and control their elaborate instruments, take in fascinating presentations about this amazing scientific adventure…
The visits are available to everyone and are free.
The public will be able to discover 35 sites on surface, entrance free (without any ticket or booking).
For underground visits only, please book your ticket by clicking on the activities' descriptions.
[h=2]Where ?[/h] At CERN, on the doorstep of Geneva, straddling the French-Swiss border.
