THE Royal Couple, William & Catherine, flew a commercial flight home to London from Los Angeles on British Airways at the end of their official visit to North America.

The trip, which was a state-sponsored affair, was something of a catwalk for Kate, as she's called. The Princess donned dozens of outfits in the time she spent in North America, from cowboy hats to elegant day dresses to full-on gowns for a Saturday night fete in Los Angeles.

But it wasn't all glitz and glamor for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. They opted not to fly home on a private jet (which they flew to Ottawa on June 30th) and instead hopped a commercial flight.

Granted, the duo sat in first class on the London-bound flight, the Daily Mail reports, but they were amongst civilian travelers nonetheless.

Before boarding the plane, they stopped to talk to several lucky BA flight attendants...

Ich meine das war auch auf BA ? (evtl jedoch als Charter, so wie der Premierminister es macht)

Wenn sie mit LH geflogen wären, wären beide von den übrigen FIRST-Passagieren, bei denen es sich sicherlich ausnahmslos um VFT-User gehandelt hätte, überredet worden, sich hier anzumelden, und die britische Botschaft in Berlin würde auf einmal lauter Meilenabos erhalten.

Das Paar wurde von der Flugbereitschaft der Canadian Air Force (Airbus A310) in London abgeholt. Die Reise innerhalb Kanadas fand mit der A310 (Polaris) und einem Challenger Jet sowie Choppern statt. Flugabschnitt YYC-LAX mit CAF (Airbus 310). Konnten den Abflug hier in YYC beobachten.

Leider hatten die beiden auf dem Rückweg von LAX nach LON kein IFE (ist in F und C ausgefallen) und wurden laut WAZ von heute mit je 230€ entschädigt !

Schon sehr interessant, was da für internationale Promis durch LHR geschleust werden. Ich muss zugeben, 60-70% der gesichteten Promis sind wohl nationale Helden und mir unbekannt.

Ich fand nur speziell das Wort "entlarvend" eine tolle Kritikwendung. "Oh, nur nicht entlarvt werden. Lieber immer gut verstellen."
Wird aber heute öfter so benutzt.

@Luftikus - Zum Thema Royal vs. Canadian Air Force. Dein Vorschlag war so gut, dass der Hausmeister des Vielfliegertreffs nach Ottawa reiste und bei der Regierung anregte, den alten Namen der Royal Canadian Air Force wieder aufleben zu lassen. Und hier die Good News. Der Vorschlag wurde angenommen. Die alten Namen werden wieder eingefuehrt.
