Text: 'Southwest Airlines said Friday it was walking away from its partnership with WestJet Airlines Ltd. after it said the Calgary carrier requested "significant changes" to their existing agreement.
WestJet's so-called code-share deal reached with Southwest in 2008 was meant to be an exclusive arrangement that would allow each carrier to pass their passengers to each other's planes seamlessly on one ticket.
For Southwest, this would open up much of Canada to its passengers, and for WestJet, much of the U.S.'
