As we continue the changes under way at United Airlines® and Continental Airlines, we're revising certain Mileage Plus and OnePass® award fees to make them consistent across both programs.
For Premier members, most award fees are going down; however, we have reinstated a fee for booking an award ticket less than 21 days prior to departure (a "close-in award booking fee").
Below are the key changes that apply to Premier members effective June 15, 2011:
Before June 15, 2011 On or after June 15, 2011
Close-in award booking fee USD 0 -> USD 50
Change to your routing USD 150 -> USD 50-75*
Cancelling your trip and recrediting the miles USD 150 -> USD 125
*Depending on when the ticket was issued.
Importantly, please note there is still no charge for changing the date or time of your award ticket as long as your routing does not change.
