Erscheint mir ja wie eine Zeitungs-Ente, aber der folgende Artikel entstammt einer Publikation aus Zimbabwe....


NINE Airlines have proposed to fly into Zimbabwe this year in a development that could see increased traffic and revenue for the tourism sector if government approves the proposals, businessdigest has established.

The airlines are — Air France, Austrian Airlines, Egypt Air, Swiss Air, Bulgarian Airlines, Qantas, Emirates Airways, KLM and Lufthansa.

However, some aviation experts were sceptical that the Zimbabwean government would grant the airlines licences to fly into the country as it would offer stiff competition to Air Zimbabwe, which they want to protect.

The national airline has been operating at a loss accumulating huge debts since 2000.

Civil Aviation Authority of Zimbabwe public relations and communications manager Annajlia Hungwe on Wednesday told businessdigest that all the airlines had been plying the Zimbabwe route before and none was chased away. The bilateral air services agreement was never cancelled, she said.

Nun ja, LH könnte ich mir durchaus vorstellen, die sind ja bis 2000 oder so nach HRE geflogen und sind ja mit Zugang weiterer Langstreckenflieger dabei, die weißen Flecken insbesondere in Afrika und Südamerika zu schließen, bevorzugt natürlich zu High Yield Destination. Könnte mir vorstellen, dass wer wirklich nach HRE muss, dafür dann ggf. auch bereit ist, entsprechend zu löhnen, ähnlich wie Luanda oder so.

Aber OS? Oder selbst LX? Absehbar wohl eher nicht...

Komisch, dass BA nicht in der Liste auftaucht. Die haben HRE imho als letzte EU-Airline gestrichen.

Ich könnte mir eher vorstellen, daß MS dort hinfluegen wird und Codeshares von LH/OS/LX drauf hat. Vielleicht kommt so die Aussage zustande?

Und wer ist Bulgarian Airlines? Air BG ja wohl kaum.

Kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass HRE eine High Yield Destination ist. Soferne da geschaeftllich ueberhaupt noch etwas laeuft, laeuft das wohl zum groessten Teil ueber JNB. Der Tourismus ist ebenfalls am Boden.....

Zimbabwe hat zwar demnaechst wieder Wahlen und sollte Mugabe diese verlieren (was wahrscheinlich ist) und die Niederlage anerkennen (was unwahrscheinlich ist), dann kann ich mir vorstellen, dass Fluege von Europa nach Zim wieder attraktiv werden koennten. In der derzeitigen Situation kann ich mir das nicht vorstellen.

Mir erscheint das eine Liste jener Fluggesellschaften zu sein, die in fueheren Zeiten einmal nach HRE geflogen sind, bzw. Streckenrechte erhalten haben (und die noch gueltig sind).
