With 2018 coming to an end, I would like to take the opportunity to thank you for your trust in our company. We feel privileged to count you amongst our loyal guests.
This year has been a challenging year for the entire aviation industry, with among others a very busy airspace impacting the airlines' operations and the service level offered to passengers.
Throughout this year, our partner CityJet experienced several irregularities with its Superjet fleet, unfortunately resulting in delays and even cancellations. The Superjet is an aircraft that offers high travel comfort but due to its young age and thus limited maintenance history, even minor technical problems need more time to be resolved.
As a result, we were unfortunately not able to deliver the service you are used to on a daily basis and I wish to sincerely apologize for any inconveniences you have experienced during your travel with us. Please be assured that we take to heart what is best for our customers. We work very closely and intensively with our industry partners to bring the overall customer experience back to the level where it should be.
We have decided to replace the Superjets in close cooperation with CityJet. As of the beginning of next year, they will all have been replaced by other regional aircraft types, allowing us to improve the punctuality of our flights.
As a small gesture for the inconveniences you may have encountered while travelling with us and to thank you for your trust and loyalty, I am happy to offer you 5000 miles that will hopefully be of use to you when exchanging them against one of the many benefits offered by Miles & More.
Hoping to welcome you soon again on-board of one of our flights and wishing you a wonderful festive end of the year season!
Sincerely,
Christina Foerster, CEO Brussels Airlines
