Wenn man für die 14 Tage "Fuel during the trip: 706 USD" veranschlagt, dann sind das ca. 50 USD pro Tag. Das sollte absolut in Ordnung sein. Sollen sie es einfach auf den Angebotspreis aufschlagen und ich muss nicht jedes Mal beim Auftanken Bargeld herausholen.
Der Routenverlauf sieht übrigens so aus. Falls jemand seine Meinung dazu abgeben möchte, so bitte ich ausdrücklich darum und bedanke mich für jeglichen Ratschlag. Noch ist nichts besiegelt und Änderungen sind möglich.
Day 1: Arrival in Antananarivo
As the Malagasy say: ‘Tongasoa eto Madagasikara’: welcome
to Madagascar! On arrival, you will be welcomed at IVATO
international airport.
After, you will be transferred at the hotel.
Day 2: Antananarivo – Andasibe (approx. 145 km - 4 to 5 h
of drive)
Departure for Andasibe via National Road 2.
Stop at the Peyrieras Reserve in Marozevo, an essential stop on
the way to Andasibe. This reserve offers a fascinating
introduction to endemic wildlife and plants, featuring
numerous animal and plant species.
Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel.
At the end of the day, enjoy a night visit to the VOIMMA
Reserve, a community-managed reserve run by the local
village. You will be amazed by the diversity of animals that can be observed.
Day 3: Andasibe
The morning is dedicated to exploring Analamazaotra
National Park. Step into the eastern forest to discover an
exceptional natural environment. There is a good chance you
will spot lemurs perched high in the trees, including the
Indri indri, one of Madagascar’s largest lemurs, as well as
other species such as the brown lemur (Eulemur fulvus), the
bamboo lemur, and the gray gentle lemur (Hapalemur
griseus). You will also have the opportunity to observe birds,
chameleons, insects, and various reptiles in this lush tropical
forest, rich with tree ferns and dense vegetation.
Day 4: Andasibe – Antsirabe (approx. 320 km - 9 to 10 h of
drive)
The journey from Andasibe to Antsirabe offers a beautiful
transition between the lush eastern rainforest and the rolling
hills of Madagascar’s Central Highlands.
After leaving the Andasibe region, known for its national
parks and rich vegetation, you will take National Road 2
(RN2) toward Antananarivo. This stretch passes through
many traditional villages, rice fields, and dense forest areas.
This route allows you to appreciate the diversity of
Madagascar’s landscapes and observe the daily life of its
inhabitants along the way.
Day 5: Antsirabe – Ranomafana (5h of drive)
Drive to Reach Ranomafana.
Stop in Fianarantsoa, often nicknamed the “cultural and
intellectual capital” of Madagascar, is a city rich in history
and traditions. Perched in the Central Highlands, it offers a
fascinating blend of colonial architecture, traditional
neighborhoods, and an authentically Malagasy atmosphere.
The old town, with its cobbled streets, wooden houses, and
historic churches, feels like a true journey back in time.
Continue along the road—as you get closer, the vegetation
becomes denser and more tropical, signaling the proximity of
the famous Ranomafana National Park, renowned for its
exceptional biodiversity and natural hot springs.
Day 6: Ranomafana
The morning will be devoted to a visit to Ranomafana
National Park. Classified as a World Heritage Site, with its
dense low-altitude rainforest, dense medium-altitude
rainforest, bamboo forest and swamp, it is the habitat of plant
and animal species such as lemurs, Varecia variegata
variegate, crayfish, Limnogale Mergulus and other species.
Lunch at your charge. In the afternoon, enjoy the pool and
bathe in the natural hot spring.
Day 7 : Ranomafana – Ambalavao (approx. 118 km – 3h 30
of drive)
You'll leave Ranomafana on the RN7 road for Ambalavao.
Ambalavao is renowned for its rich handicrafts, as well as for
its wine products. It is the birthplace of Malagasy
craftsmanship. The region is home to a factory that produces
a large proportion of the Antaimoro paper made from the
bark fibers of the “Havoa” tree, a variety of mulberry.
Day 8 : Ambalavao – Anja Community Reserve
Located at the foot of granite mountains near Ambalavao, the
Anja Community Reserve is a true natural gem managed
entirely by the local community. This protected area is
especially famous for its large population of ring-tailed lemurs
(Lemur catta), which can be easily observed in their natural
habitat. During the visit, you'll enjoy an accessible hike
through lush vegetation and striking rock formations. In
addition to lemurs, you may also spot chameleons, endemic
birds, and a variety of unique plant species.
Day 9: Ambalavao – Ranohira (approx. 275 km - 6h of
drive)
Departure to Ranohira.
You will follow a mountain road offering beautiful panoramic
views of the surrounding landscapes, including lush hills and
traditional villages. Throughout your journey, you will
admire the vast Ihorombe plain stretching as far as the eye can
see, dotted with herds of zebu. Discover the Isalo window, a
little detour not to be missed for its magnificent sunset.
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 10 : Isalo National Park -
Isalo is an immense ruin form massif eroded from the Jurassic
period. The whole day will be devoted to visiting the Isalo
National Park, known as the “Malagasy Colorado”. You'll be
accompanied by a local guide on an adventure hike through
canyons, lush vegetation, encountering exceptional wildlife.
The massif is home to several species of lemur, including the
catta lemur (maki), the Verraux Sifaka and the Eulemur.
Picnic lunch at your charge in the heart of nature. Swimming
in the park's natural pools : « Piscine Turquoise and Piscine
Noire ».
Day 11 : Ranohira – Tulear (approx. 267 km 6 to 7h of
drive)
Visit to Zombitse National Park
This park is located between Isalo and Toliara, along the RN7
national road. It forms a unique transitional zone between the
dry western forests and the spiny vegetation of the island’s
southern region. The tranquility, the beauty of the
landscapes, and the richness of the wildlife made this visit
unforgettable. The vegetation was remarkable: ancient
baobabs, wild orchids, medicinal plants used by local
communities, and many endemic tree species.
Drive back to Tulear in the afternoon.
Day 12 : Tulear – Ifaty -
You can visit the Reniala Reserve, a protected sanctuary home
to the typical vegetation of the spiny forest region, dominated
by majestic baobabs, didieraceae, and many endemic plants
found nowhere else on Earth. During a walk accompanied by
a passionate local guide, discover the richness of this dry forest
and its fascinating species: rare birds, chameleons, lemurs, and
a remarkable flora perfectly adapted to arid conditions.
A visit to Reniala is also an immersion into local culture —
guides share legends about the baobabs, the medicinal uses of
plants, and the wisdom of village communities living in
harmony with nature.

Day 15 - Antananarivo –
Located just 22 km from Antananarivo, Lemur’s Park is a unique botanical and zoological park
dedicated to the preservation of Madagascar’s biodiversity, especially its iconic lemurs. This true
haven of peace stretches over 5 hectares of restored forest, bordered by the Katsaoka River.
During your visit, you will have the chance to observe nine different species of lemurs living in
semi-freedom in a natural and protected environment. Passionate guides will accompany you
throughout the walk, helping you discover the unique characteristics of these fascinating animals,
as well as the rich endemic flora of Madagascar.
