Ich habe eine Punktebuchung für das Le Méridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Waterpark in Dubai gemacht und folgender Hinweis war bei der Buchung:
You may cancel your reservation for no charge before 11:59 PM local hotel time on October 8, 2021 (14 day before arrival). Please note that we will assess a fee if you must cancel after this deadline. If you have made a prepayment, we will retain all or part of your prepayment. If not, we will charge your credit card.
Mir war jetzt nicht klar, was "a fee" bedeutet. Bisher - und das ist zumindest meine Erfahrung mit Marriott, Hilton und Hyatt - hatte ich es noch nie, dass eine Punktebuchung Stornierungsgebühren beinhaltet. Das ist ja -ähnlich der Prämienbuchung bei den Airlines - ein entscheidender Vorteil gewesen, entsprechend flexibel zu sein.
Nun erhalte ich folgende Email:
We are contacting you with regards to your booking confirmation xxxxxxxx, kindly allow us to provide some information regarding the rate policy. You may cancel free of charge 14 days before arrival, in case of late cancellation or no show your credit card will be charged AED 2442.65 net.
Der Betrag entspricht den Kosten für eine Nacht zur Standard-Rate (Buchung ist auch nur für eine Nacht). Aber etwa 500 EUR "Fee" falls ich - in Zeiten von Corona - stornieren muss bei einer Punktebuchung. Hat das schon mal jemand erlebt? Ist das gem. dem Programm überhaupt zulässig?
