It is with sincere regret that I can confirm that the South African Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has temporarily suspended SA Express’ Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) as the CAA deem our quality assurance systems to be inadequate.
Since we started operations 22 years ago, we have had an impeccable safety record as safety has always been our first and foremost priority and we will never compromise our passengers, crew, the public or our aircraft.
We are currently in discussions with the CAA and take their concerns very seriously to resolve these challenges as a matter of urgency. We understand that our operational matters should never become your issue and we therefore sincerely apologise that you are being inconvenienced by this regrettable decision. We assure you that we will do everything possible to accommodate you as closely to your original flight schedule as possible.
This temporary suspension will impact SA Express’ flight schedule until such time that the CAA’s concerns have been addressed and the airline has been granted permission to operate again.
We can confirm that passengers will be accommodated and further information will be available on our website:
Fly SA Express | Check Our Web Only Flight Specials and social media platforms which include @flysaexpress and
www.facebook.com/flysaexpress. Passengers in need of assistance can also contact 011 978 2355/5096/6384 from 6am to 11pm.
We are working in conjunction with the relevant authorities to find an urgent and speedy resolution for this situation, so that we can recover operations fully to mitigate the impact on our customers and other stakeholders.
I will keep you updated as soon as more information becomes available.
Yours truly
Inati Ntshanga
