Updates to The Etihad Guest Programme

We are writing to share with you some news about updates to your Etihad Guest Programme that will take place after our system upgrade on 23rd February 2013.
The upgrade of our system is part of our continuing efforts to further enhance our award-winning travel experience.
GuestSeat Flight Rewards:
We have taken this opportunity to increase your flexibility regarding your GuestSeat Flight Rewards.
Booking Period: You will be able to book GuestSeats online or via the Etihad Guest Service Centre up to 3 hours before departure.
Date Change: You will be entitled to one date change free of charge. Please note that all subsequent changes can be processed at a fee of AED 100.
Refunds: If you wish to have your ticket refunded, you will need to request the refund within the validity of the ticket. Refunds can only be processed via the Etihad Guest Service Centre for a fee of 2000 Etihad Guest Miles. Please note that Etihad Guest Gold and Gold Elite members are exempt from this charge.
Stopovers: An added benefit of the systems upgrade is that you will be able to book a stopover in Abu Dhabi when travelling on a GuestSeat Flight Reward. To book a stopover, please contact the Etihad Guest Service Centre when making your booking.
Additional Changes:
Here are some further changes we would like to make you aware of:
• A credit card will be required to pay for the tax portion of a Flight Reward as cash cannot be collected.
• You will be able to upgrade using miles on the website without calling the contact centre if the original ticket has been issued by Etihad Airways.
Using your ADCB and ADIB vouchers:
For any members using ADCB and ADIB vouchers, please note that these will be redeemable online only once we upgraded the systems. All members that have existing vouchers will have these reissued via email.
PointsPay:
All PointsPay transactions will also not be permissible during the systems upgrade (from 0100hrs on 23 February 2013 until the evening of 24 February 2013 UAE local time.)
Blackout Period:
Please note that there will be a systems blackout period from the evening of 22 February 2013 until the evening of 23 February 2013. Members will not be able to do the following online, through our contact centres or through travel agents:
Make a commercial or redemption booking.
Change or cancel a booking.
Check-in other than at the airport.
Upgrade with Etihad Guest Miles.
Purchase an upgrade at the airport.
Redeem vouchers
Should you be traveling with us or any of our airline partners, please note that there may be a delay in crediting Etihad Guest Miles to your Etihad Guest account of up to 3 days.
Please be reassured that we’ll be working hard to keep any inconvenience to an absolute minimum.
